Western Reserve Brewing staff is on Cloud Nine due to prestigious award

(CLEVELAND, OH) - Western Reserve Brewing, Cleveland's youngest microbrewery, was awarded yet another national medal at the 1999 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado. Cloud Nine^®, Western Reserve's summer seasonal beer, was awarded a silver medal in the category of Belgian & French Style Specialty Ales despite stiff competition from 33 other excellent entries from all over the United States. Cloud Nine^® was the only Belgian White Beer to be awarded in this category, making it the best Belgian White Beer in the nation according to the professional judges. This year's Great American Beer Festival was contributed to by 400 breweries from the United States, and drew 30,000 attendees with the opportunity to try any of 1,700 beer brands.

Unlike other summer brews, Cloud Nine^® has a unique orange peel flavor that sets it apart from other beers marketed with sour taste of lemon. "Unlike many national craft brews, we make a point of making an authentic Belgian White Beer. Many larger breweries who attempt to emulate this style do a dumbed-down version. We figured our fans deserve the very best in ingredients and style, without any shortcuts," stated Gavin Smith, Western Reserve C.E.O. "We named this beer Cloud Nine not only for it's euphoric taste, but also to indicate that it is an unfiltered and cloudy Belgian White Beer".

Cloud Nine^® joins a long list of nationally and internationally awarded beers from Western Reserve Brewing including their American Wheat Beer, Amber Ale, Nut Brown Ale, and the seasonal beer Lake Effect Winter Ale (to be re-released in November.)
